Vegan Silken Tofu Mayo (Dairy-free)

This thick and creamy silken tofu mayonnaise is a must-have condiment in your pantry! It is effortless to make and is ready in 5 minutes. This dairy-free vegan mayo is versatile and is great as a spread, dipping sauce, or dressing.

  • 1 block firm silken tofu or regular silken tofu (about 12oz/340g)*
  • 2-3 teaspoons lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon maple syrup or other liquid sweeteners
  • 1 teaspoon dijon mustard
  • salt to taste
  • ¼ teaspoon garlic powder optional


  • Remove silken tofu from its container, and gently pat off excess water using a kitchen towel or napkin.
  • Place all ingredients into a blender or food processor, and blend until smooth. You could also use an immersion blender.
  • Give it a taste, adding more seasonings, if needed. Your silken tofu mayo is ready to be served.


*Silken tofu - I recommend going with firm silken tofu, if possible. Other kinds of silken tofu will work as well, but the mayo might be slightly runnier. 
Helpful tips
  • Only silken tofu will work in this recipe, as it blends well. Other kinds of tofu might not blend as smoothly, yielding gritty mayo. 
  • Your tofu mayonnaise might seem runny at first but will thicken up upon chilling in the fridge for a couple of hours. 
  • Store mayonnaise in a sealed container or glass jar, and it will stay well in the fridge for up to a week.
